November 3, 2025
The Colts (1-1) fell behind early and could not get in front, as the Mountaineers (1-0) won their season opener despite 15 points from star freshman point guard Amory Arie.
The first half was in EOSC's hands from early on, as 11 first-half points from Arie could not give them the lead, trailing 37-20 at halftime.
The second half was even more lopsided, with Eastern Oklahoma State running out 86-57 winners.
The bright spot of the loss was Arie, who scored 15 points after scoring 19 in his debut against Southern University-Shreveport. These 34 points are the most by a Colts freshman in their first two NJCAA contest since Terry Anderson scored 37 against SU-Shreveport and SAU Tech in 2020-21. Anderson was a NJCAA All-American for the Colts, averaging 21 points per game and going on to become a starter for NCAA Division I Lamar, scoring 13.4 points per game as a senior, and now plays for High Point.
The Colts will be back in action at home on Wednesday, November 5 against East Texas Baptist University JV at 7:30 p.m.
