Men's Basketball Dukes Out 89-84 Comeback Win Over East Texas Baptist JV
Lockesburg, Ark. - UA Cossatot men's basketball got back to winning ways Wednesday, with a 40-minute battle ending in a comeback win over East Texas Baptist JV at the Lockesburg Bank Gymnasium.

The Colts (2-1) dug deep and came from nehind for their second win of the season, coming out on top in a topsy-turvy game for a well-earned victory.
Both teams were evenly matched in the first half, exchanging leads multiple times, with ETBU coming out on top after 20 minutes by a score of 43-36. Sophomore guard/forward Cherano Calmez had 10 points at center, while freshman point guard Amory Arie had seven to continue his torrid start to the season.
Cossatot came out storming to start the second half, going on a 15-5 run before the first media timeout to take a 51-48 lead before then tacking on three more.
Despite going up as much as 11, UAC found themselves up one with just 45 seconds to go. After losing possession the Tigers came up the floor with the chance to turn an 85-84 deficit into a lead, but Calmez came up with a huge steal, forcing ETBU to foul and send UAC to the line.
Cossatot held on from there for an 89-84 win, with freshman guard Devean Newton scoring 23 points, while Calmez finished the game with 21.
The Colts have their first away game of the season on Friday, as they will play Murray State College in Tishomingo, Oklahoma at 7:30 p.m.
