Men’s Basketball Wraps Up Blinn Invitational With 79-67 Win over Coastal Bend
Brenham, Texas. - UA Cossatot men’s basketball recovered from a Friday night loss, giving Coastal Bend just their second loss of the season as they wrapped up the Blinn Invitational at the Kruse Center on Saturday afternoon.
Cossatot (4-3) used a strong finish to the first half to springboard them into a win over the Cougars (3-2), as UAC is back above .500.
It was a close game for most of the first half, with both teams being knotted up at 22 each with under five minutes to go.
However, the Colts outscored the Cougars 16-5 in the final 4:58. While Coastal Bend came out in the second half on a run and got within four, Cossatot was able to hold them off, quickly getting up by 10 again.
In the end, UAC won 79-67 as they improve to 4-3 on the season.
Peter Serunjoji excelled off the bench, scoring 19 points including 13 in the second half. RJ Patton was second on the team with 14 points.
The Colts will hit the road again on Monday, traveling up to Hot Springs play Champion Christian College at 5 p.m.
