Men's Basketball Beaten by New Mexico Junior College in NMJC Finale Despite 28 Points From Glover
Hobbs, N.M. - UA Cossatot men's basketball wrapped up their appearance in the New Mexico Junior College Classic, suffering a 99-60 loss to NJCAA Division I New Mexico Junior College at the Caster Activity Center.

The Colts (7-9) were fighting from behind from the get-go, with the Thunderbirds (13-1) cruising to a 39-point victory.
Cossatot fell into a 7-0 hole and was never able to recover, as New Mexico JC ended the half on a 39-14 run to give themselves a 49-20 lead at halftime.
The first half ended with NMJC killing UAC in shooting percentages -- 61.5% to 21.4% from the field, 42.9% to 16.7% from three and 91.7 to 75% from the free throw line. Additionally, the Thunderbirds outrebounded the Colts 19-10 and outscored them in the paint by an 18-to-two margin and had all four of the game's blocks. Point guard Amory Arie came off the bench to lead UAC in first-half scoring, going 2-2 with a three-pointer and converting both free throws. Jeremiah Deering and Dylan glover both had three rebounds in the first 20 minutes.
The second half was slightly kinder to Cossatot, but the Colts were still outplayed, with NMJC outscoring them 50-40, including a 13-0 run as they were 99-60 winners.
Glover was by far the biggest bright spot for UAC, as the redshirt sophomore guard out of Bryan, Texas was sizzling hot from behind the three-point line, connecting on six out of ten threes en route to scoring 28 points, also tying McCray for the team lead with four rebounds. RJ Patton was dishing it, accumulating six assists. Arie was also prolific from behind the arc, making four out of six attempts, scoring 13 in total.
The Thunderbirds simply shot the ball better, going 55.2% from the field and 75% from the line compared to the Colts shooting 34.6% and 73.7% comparatively, although they were better on three-pointers by a margin of 38.5%-26.7%. UAC was much more prolific in the second half, shooting 12-24 (50%) from the field, 8-14 (57.1%) on three-pointers and 8-11 (72.7%) from the free throw line, also only allowing 2-16 (12.5%) three-point attempts to go in.
Cossatot got outmatched on the boards, as they were outrebounded 41-22, with 13-7 and 28-15 being the scores of the offensive and defensive rebound battles respectively. NMJC collected 19 steals and 14 rebounds, while 13 and eight were UAC's totals.
The Thunderbirds also dominated in the paint, scoring 46 points there while only giving up six. They also led in points off turnovers (24-15), second chance points (15-5) and fast break points (16-2), while winning the bench points battle 64-31.
The Colts will head home for break and the holidays and will be back in action for a return to the conference slate in January. Cossatot opens up 2026 on the road, traveling to play rivals National Park College at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 7 in Hot Springs, Ark.
