The Colts (10-16, 4-10 Region 2) were in firm control for most of the game, scoring a win over a solid Ridge Runners (18-8, 8-6 Region 2) team they nearly beat one month ago in Helena-West Helena.
UAC got out to a torrid start, including a 10-0 run to give them a 33-16 lead with 8:34 to go in the first half.
Eventually Cossatot took a 44-33 lead into halftime, with sophomore center Knighten Day putting up eight-first half points.
While UAC never fully pulled away from PCCUA, they were never really threatened either, with their lead staying mostly in the 10-point range for most of the second half.
Cossatot grabbed a crucial 88-74 win, with RJ Patton scoring 17 points, Bryce Goodwin scoring 16 and Day scoring 12, keeping them ahead of rivals National Park in avoiding the dreaded last-place spot which misses the Region 2 Conference Tournament in Harrison, Ark. In two weeks time.
It's back to the road for the Colts, with their final ever matchup with the soon-to-be discontinued ASU-Newport Aviators set for 2:00 p.m. On Saturday.
