DE QUEEN, Ark. - UA Cossatot women's opened up at home, with the Colts (0-4) falling late against Dallas College Cedar Valley Suns (2-0-2) at Colts Soccer Complex Saturday afternoon.
It was a flurry of shots early on for the Colts, culminating in a penalty kick in the 15th minute, but DCCV goalkeeper Danna Vargas denied freshman forward Francesca Dorreus for the spot.
At the end of the half UAC had six shots to Cedar Valley's three, with Cossatot keeper Nahomie Ambroise making two stops (six for Vargas)
The second half was mostly quiet until the 87th minute, when Victory Oyoyo Peter gave the Suns victory with a late winner.
Cossatot had 12 shots with seven on goal, with five of Cedar Valley's eight shot being on target. Ambroise had four saves, with Vargas having seven.
Next up is an exhibition away to NCAA Division III Hendrix, with kickoff slated for 7 p.m.
