Women’s Soccer Capture’s UA Cossatot’s First Conference Title With 7-1 Sophomore Day Win Over NPC
De Queen, Ark. - UA Cossatot women's soccer made history Saturday afternoon, capturing UAC's first ever conference title following a 7-1 thrashing of National Park at the Colts Soccer Complex on Sophomore Day.

The Colts (3-6, 2-0 Region 2) fell behind early, but rallied to defeat the Nighthawks (0-9-1, 0-2 Region 2) for the second time this season.
The Nighthawks took an early lead, scoring in the 3rd minute.
Cossatot struck back in the 15th minute, with Angeline Gustave hitting a stunning strike into the back of the net, equalizing the match.
And just three minutes later, her fellow Haitian put the Colts in front, as Francesca Dorreus scored her seventh goal of the season.
Goals in the 25th minute (Mary Ramirez), 27th minute (Dahana Deis) and 32nd minute (Gustave) put the Colts up 5-1 after 45 minutes.
It was a dominant first half for the Colts, outshooting the Nighthawks 17-3.
In the second half, Dorreus (51st minute) and Deis (58th minute) scored to make it 7-1 after the early termination of the match due to the scoreline after 70 minutes.
Additionally, four Colts were honored at halftime for Sophomore Day,
Nahomie Ambroise is a native of Petit Goave, joining UAC from Florida National University and is majoring in arts. A member of the 2023 Haiti World Cup Squad, Ambroise scored against Hinds C.C. On a free kick from the Colts half on August 27th, and is the program's all-time leader in save percentage and goals against average.
Mariana Castillo is a defender/midfielder out of Arlington Texas and Arlington High School, majoring in psychology. Starting 19 matches across two seasons, Castillo has two career goals including an equalizer in a 1-1 draw against Arlington Baptist last year.
Gissel Daravina is a defender/midfielder Hallandale Beach, Fla. and Nova High School and is majoring in nursing. Starting 18 matches in two years, Daravina scored and assisted last year against Southwest Mississippi C.C. (Aug. 31) and scored in 2-0 win over Arlington Baptist (Oct. 2).
Laura Daravina is a midfielder/defender from Hallandale Beach, Fla. and Nova High School and is majoring in nursing. Starting 19 matches in two seasons, Daravina scored and assisted last year against Southwest Mississippi C.C. (Aug. 31) as well as scoring and assisting in the 4-1 win at National Park earlier this month.
Next up for the Colts is the Central District Championships. Cossatot is currently slated to host the match on Friday, Nov. 7.
