Johnson County is a storied program, with three national runner-up appearances, eight regional titles, two district titles and eight conference titles. JCCC is 20-0-1 on the year, the only blemish being falling on penalty kicks in the North Plains District Championship after a 0-0 double overtime contest with national No. 7 seed Iowa Lakes C.C. The Cavaliers are looking to finally break through, having finished national runner-up the past two seasons.
Jones College is 12-5-2, having fallen 3-0 in the Region 23 Final to national No. 2 seed Northwest Mississippi C.C.
Cossatot is making quick strides as a program, advancing to nationals in just the third year of Colts soccer. UAC clinched their berth on Saturday, when freshman midfielder Angeline Gustave's long range free kick in the 104th minute during double overtime took down No. 9 St. Charles in the Central District Championship. The Colts overcame great adversity to win, being down to 10 players via a red card for the majority of the match, with freshman forward Dahana Deis getting on the scoresheet in the ninth minute via an assist from her fellow Haitian freshman, star midfielder Francesca Dorreus, before two first-half STCC goals were canceled out by goalkeeper Nahomie Ambroise, with the member of Haiti's 2023 World Cup squad also scoring on a free kick from her own half.
